OLYMPIC CHAMPION SHOES

The personal story of museum founder János Angyal about this pair of sport shoes

Stefka Kostadinova arrived at the 1993 Jumping Gala in Salgótarján as a World Record Holder and Indoor World Champion and she enchanted the audience with a victorious jump of 200 centimetres. As the Olympic Champion of Atlanta she made her participation in 1996 memorable with a fantastic result of 201 centimetres. She has been the president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee since 2005. It speaks about her popularity that she was voted president for a further four years on May 5, 2021 as the only nominee.

Our Museum presents the spike shoes she wore when she won gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
