CATAPULT SHOES FOR THE BETTER RESULTS

The personal story of museum founder János Angyal about this pair of sport shoes

The Russian athletes jumped in so-called catapult shoes in the 1950s which allowed them to reach better results. The jumping shoes’ elevated 13 millimetres soles enabled a better heel support, while the horizontal momentum encouraged a greater degree for direction change.

I jumped over my own height wearing such catapult shoes, which were made for me by the famous Budapest-based Bodnár footwear.
